Utah chooses the Federal Health
Insurance Marketplace
Aug 8, 2014 - FoxBusiness.com
Utah has decided to use the Federal Health
Insurance Exchange for residents of Utah
that want to see if they get a subsidy for
the new ACA Affordable Care Act "ObamaCare"
health plans. The annual enrollment for
these plans begins October 1, 2013. The new
plan will begin on January 1, 2014.
According to the Deseret News article
8/22/13 "Utahns shopping for health
insurance through the online marketplace
created by the Affordable Care Act will have
at least 99 plan choices, the state
insurance department said Thursday. Although
costs will vary statewide, a 27-year-old
living in Salt Lake County could pay as
little as $162 a month for an insurance plan
that will cover 70 percent of his or her
medical costs, according to a preliminary
analysis by the department. For a family
that includes a pair of 40-something parents
with three or more children under age 21,
monthly plan costs could range from $623 to
$978." According to all ObamaCare Subsidy
Calculators, the actual cost for a family
with "a pair of 40-something parents with
three or more children under age 21" is more
like $1,026 for the Silver plan. They could
get the price down to $623-$978 range by
having an income in the range of $81,000 to
$104,000 annual Adjusted Gross Income. But
if they are making a lot less than that,
they would pay even less!
